Refund policy

At Mini India Grocery, customer satisfaction is our priority. While we do our best to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition, we understand that there may be rare occasions when a return is necessary. Please review the following policy to understand when and how returns can be made.

Items Eligible for Return

Due to strict food safety, cross-contamination, and hygiene standards, we can only accept returns under the following conditions:

  • You received a different product than what you ordered (excluding packaging changes).
  • The product arrived damaged, defective, or with a broken seal.
  • The product was expired at the time of delivery, and this was not indicated on the product page.
  • The product is unused, unopened, and in original packaging (subject to approval and category restrictions)

For health and hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns of:

  • Opened food packages.
  • Products with broken seals after delivery.
  • Fresh, chilled, or frozen items (due to perishability).

Return Conditions

  • Returns must be requested within 3 calendar days of receiving the order.
  • All returned items must be in resalable condition, securely packaged, and include the return form provided by our team.
  • Items must be returned via the designated method provided by our customer service team.

How to Return an Item

  1. Contact us via email (support@miniindiagrocery.com) or phone (+31 616999619) with your order number and reason for return.
  2. Our support team will send you a return form and further instructions.
  3. Print and fill in the return form, and place it inside the return package.
  4. Carefully pack the items to prevent damage in transit.
  5. Send the parcel to the return address provided or drop it off at a specified location.
  6. Keep your proof of shipment safe until your return is confirmed.

Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless:

  • You received an incorrect item.
  • The product was delivered with a broken seal or defect.
  • The item was expired at delivery and this was not disclosed.

In such cases, we will reimburse or cover the return shipping costs.

Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period)

As a consumer within the EU, you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order. However, this right does not apply to:

  • Fresh, frozen, or perishable items.
  • Items that have been opened, used, or unsealed after delivery.
  • Certain categories such as electrical appliances and imported items without local support are excluded from withdrawal once opened.

If you wish to exercise this right:

  • The product must be returned unused and in its original packaging.
  • The cost of returning the order is at your own expense.
  • Any damage or loss in value resulting from improper use will be deducted from the refund amount.

We will process your refund (excluding any return shipping costs) within 7 days of receiving the returned items, using the same payment method used for the original purchase.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return, unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Opened food products
  • Products with broken seals after delivery
  • Fresh, chilled, or frozen items (due to perishability)
  • Products returned due to taste preference or personal expectation

Electrical & Appliance Returns

Electrical appliances (such as mixer grinders and kitchen equipment) can be returned within the 14-day withdrawal period, provided that:

  • The product is unused or only tested as would be allowed in a physical store
  • It is returned in original packaging with all accessories
  • It is in resalable condition

If the product has been used beyond necessary inspection, we reserve the right to:

  • Deduct loss in value, or
  • Refuse the return

Please note: These products are imported items and may not have local warranty or service support.

Refund Process & Timeline

Once your returned items are received and inspected, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.

We reserve the right to withhold refunds until:

  • We have received the returned product(s), or
  • You provide valid proof of return shipment - whichever happens first.

If your refund is approved, we will process it within 7 to 10 business days. The refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the original order, unless you request an alternative. No additional fees will be charged for processing the refund.

Please note: Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take a few extra days for the refunded amount to appear in your account.
